Sales of cannabis in Oregon and in and it’s looking good for the state.
Per KATU
More than 11,000 pounds of marijuana were sold in Oregon during a 3-month period last year, according to a report from the state’s Department of Revenue.
The report states 4,997,000 grams of flower were sold between Jan. 4, 2016 through March 31, 2016, which equals about 11,016 pounds. Of that amount, 2,170,000 grams of flower (or 4,784 pounds) were sold in Portland city limits.
From February 2016 to November 2016, the state collected $54,506,832 in taxes through a 25 percent tax rate.
More than half of the sales in the state took place in Portland metro area. Guess that’s why the first cannabis commercial seemed like a Portlandia episode.
