Lone Star State of Mind: Texas Medical Cannabis Bill Scheduled For Hearing Tuesday

via Texas Public Radio

The great state of Texas is set to make a decision that will definitely alter the state of cannabis in the country.

Per KSAT

A bill allowing the medical use of cannabis in Texas is set for a hearing in the Texas Legislature on Tuesday.

The bipartisan House Bill 2107 authorizes “the possession, use, cultivation, distribution, transportation, and delivery of medical cannabis for medical use by qualifying patients with certain debilitating medical conditions and the licensing of dispensing organizations and testing facilities; authorizing fees.”

The bill, authored by Rep. Eddie Lucio III, D-Brownsville, Rep. James White, R-Hillister, Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, and Rep. Ron Simmons, R-Carrollton, would expand on the current Compassionate Use Act

Testimony will be heard during the hearing.

Those for and against the bill will have the opportunity to speak to the committee for two minutes each.

If the bill is considered, it will then go to the House floor for consideration.

Texas joining the legions of states with residents who have said “yes” to either medical or recreational cannabis. I can also imagine the panic that Jeff Sessions and the Trump administration is having right now. What will Texas allowing medical will be a big win for cannabis activist.
