Not In This Wonderful World: Disney World Officially Bans Marijuana

Just because the state of Florida passed a bill that allowed patients access to medical marijuana doesn’t mean that you can bring it into Disney World. While it’s been long known that you can’t bring things like alcohol and such onto the property. But as marijuana.com points out, their stance on cannabis use can hurt the park over time.

There are a few reasons why banning marijuana from Disney World is a problem. The recent change could be a response to Florida’s legalization of medical marijuana in November, which was approved by an exceedingly wide margin. There are states now allowing children with medical marijuana prescriptions to be administered medicine on school grounds. I think this another “devil in the details” situation. You can’t bring alcohol into park, but you can buy it from them. Alcohol is sold at Disney World for the adults who are stuck with kids all weekend can’t wait for them to go to sleep so they can relax. Sounds like to me, Disney is waiting for the right moment like many others in this country, to make money without looking like its going against its “family” image. I repeat, you can buyy liquor while a Disney World.
