Rumors have been floating around that a new album from JAY Z will be coming to Tidal very soon. While it’s been mostly conversations on social media, no one could actually confirm whether or not the music mogul will be dropping a new a set of music anytime soon. That was until Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley confirmed to Billboard that Hov was in Jamaica with him recording new music.
We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place,” said Marley. “He’s been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston.”
Marley went on to reveal some more details about the collaboration, even if he couldn’t divulge it all. “I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on,” he explained. “I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”
It would make sense to see the two work together, especially after Marley becoming the newest Tidal owner.
