When it comes to odes to cannabis, Hip-Hop has that locked up! NORML member and cannabis activist Greta Gaines decided to use her talent to create a country music track that’s speaking up for the plant.
Her new album, Tumbleweeds is available right now on iTunes. “Light It Up” is a bonus track on the album. She plans on donating proceeds from the song to pro-cannabis activist groups like NORML.
The album is littered with references to cannabis and it’s importance to her in her life. As she told The Cannabist, “Light It Up” is the first time she has made a song like this.
“This horse is out of the barn,” she said. “Across the country, Americans are using cannabis, and I wanted to write about that–this movement is happening and you can’t tell us how to light it up.”
