via westword

If you’re a dab connoisseur, then you’ve been celebrating 710 most likely all year already. For the novice user, 710 is a reason to celebrate. What 420 is for smokers, 710 is for the users who prefer their cannabis in oil form.

I’m not sure anyone knows exactly when the day was created and who started it. It was rumored that “dabbing” started in the 60’s and 70’s. The first know modern rig came about in 2006.

For those who don’t know what a dabbing is, it’s one hit of cannabis concentrate, varying in size based on the consumer’s tolerance and preference. In verb form, “Dabbing” represents the act of consuming a cannabis concentrate. Dabs vary in size depending on the consumer’s experience and desired high.

I become aware the art of dabbing myself over the last few years thanks to Rosco.

After seeing that, I knew dabbing wasn’t going to be for me. For those with a higher tolerance and good lungs, a dab will hit you just right.

There are three main methods to consume dabs. The most popular will be the use of a rig. A rig is a modified traditional water bong made specifically for dabbing.

Using a titanium, quartz or ceramic nail and a blow torch, to heat up the nail. The dab will vaporize and a cloud of THC-filled smoke will fill up the rig then the consumers lungs.

As you can see in the video with Rosco, a dab can come at you pretty quickly.

If you are celebrating 710 day, I’m sure that you are aware of your own tolerance. Enjoy. Also, be safe.
