Imitating Life: The New Season Of “Ballers” Takes On Cannabis Use In Sports (Video)

via ScreenRant

The new season of HBO’s hit series, “Ballers” is taking a page out of the Law & Order series and is snatching a story right from the headlines. The show stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a former football player turned sports agent.

Season 3 finds him not only starting his own agency, but attempting to bring an NFL franchise to his hometown of Las Vegas. While he tries to fulfil promises he made, one his business partners finds himself trying to remove a client from his new endoresement deal.

The story that jumps out to us over at CashColorCannabis is the deal that Vernon (Donovan W. Carter) took with a cannabis brand that stired up contrversy not only for the new G.M. of his team, the Miami Dolphins, but also from the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Vernon and his brother Reggie took a deal without telling anyone and now his agents are tasked with trying to get them to turn to other options.

Sounds familiar, right?

The show deals with cannabsi use on the recreational side as well as the medical.

I’m enjoying this story-line as it makes the show somewhat enjoyable.

Take a look at the clip below and watch Ballers on HBO every Sunday at 10:05
