Issa No: JAY Z Turns Down Super Bowl LII

So many people have been wondering how boycotting the NFL over its treatment of Colin Kaepernick has been going. Lackluster ratings overy the first few weeks of the new season could be a hint that the power is in the hands of the people.

JAY Z’s recent stance might speak even louder to how this protest is working. Hov turned down a chance to be the first Hip-Hop artist to headline a Super Bowl halftime show.

Per The UK Metro

Shawn has reportedly declined performing during the halftime show of Super Bowl LII, despite his wife performing in two.

(This also adds to the hearts that were broken when word got out that OutKast declined in 2004.)

According to the article, “Lots of people have been saying Jay will perform with Justin Timberlake, but it is simply not the case.” This is likely due to JAY-Z’s support of Colin Kaepernick, which he voiced during his closing set at The Meadows Festival last week (September 15th).

Given his remarks about O.J. and others, I wouldn’t even see how he could’ve done the halftime show. Good try N.F.L.
