via geekwire

Being a cannabis brand can be a promising, yet difficult challenge. The ability to be one of the first in an emerging market can be tempting, but even with changing laws, it’s hard for a brand to advertise.

Getting into the game is easy, separating from the pack is the hard part.

Placing ads on television, radio or in print magazines or newspapers can be hard to obtain, even if you are in a place where cannabis is legal.

The stigma surrounding cannabis still lives in many and unfortunately, that negativity could stop many brands from making the leap from mom and pop store to national brand.

NPR spoke with Randall Huft. Huft had the pleasure of working campaigns for the likes of United Airlines and Nestle. Now hiss company claims that 80% of their business comes from the cannabis industry.

Recently, he helped craft the first cannabis industry TV commercial for vape brand Eureka.

Huft spoke about the difficulties for brands to create advertising with NPR Market Place Morning Report recently. Stream the full interview here
