Every year, college hopefuls dress down to shorts, shirts and sneakers and compete in a grueling gauntlet of exercises all in hopes of raising their N.F.L. stock. Yes, the N.F.L. combine, where kids who were struggling to eat just a few months ago, will compete for the chance to make millions of dollars in the league.
N.F.L. scouts aren’t just their to see how much you can lift and we’ll you can run. There will also be personality tests, intelligence tests and drug tests. The latter has seen many a prospect (remember Warren Sapp’s fall from grace during the draft) go from potential multi-millionaire to someone who just hopes to get drafted. Last year, Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster and Michigan DB Jabril Peppers felt the cloud of a failed drug test hover over them for weeks leading up to the draft.
According to Bleacher Report, the league might be taken a new stance when it comes to combine attendees who fail a drug test. The sports outlet claims that the league may be looking to remove the importance of a failed drug test, especially if that failed drug test is for cannabis. The change would mean a lot for this year’s crop of potential draftees.
