The tobacco industry has struggled to maintain the popularity that the juggernaut once held. The rising acceptance of cannabis seems like the death knell for tobacco. Unless companies do something drastic like, invest in cannabis, then they will always be one the hold ups from cannabis becoming legal.
Speaking of investing, it was reported recently by 420intel that several tobacco companies are investing in cannabis in a big way.
Phillips Morris, Alliance One International have either purchased percentages in cannabis companies or purchased a patent giving them flexibility to pivot towards one plant in case the other fails.
