Original Rap: Muhammad Ali’s Note to Singer Robert Goulet to be Auctioned (Photo)

A handwritten note signed by Heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali where he teases singer Robert Goulet will be auctioned by Robert Edward Auctions. Bidding runs from April 13-May 6. Interested bidders may participate in the auction online.

Goulet stumbled singing the national anthem prior to Ali’s 1965 championship fight against Sonny Liston.

The note on United Airlines stationery reads like contemporary rap lyrics, “Guess who I meet at the air Port. and he is Really a Sport his Last name is Goulet But it Rhyme’s with Clay. he was on his way Las VegasThats when he meet us. he he [sic] think’s he is Slick he hit Me with a good lick. he lives Good. Like a man should. he get a lots of/ honey, and Makes Much Money. From Muhammad Ali.”
