Secret Seesh: JAY Z and Beyonce’s Surprise Album’s “Highest” Lines (Video)

JAY Z and Beyonce surprised the world with the two released Everything Is Love.   Produced by the likes of Cool & Dre, Pharrell, Boi1da, iLLMind and more, the 9-track LP came without proper notice, the secret release forced millions to grab their headphones and see what The Carters had for the world.

One thing that didn’t come a surprise to us were the numerous references to cannabis use. We’ve heard Hov say that he does consume, “once in the blue, when there’s nothing to do.” While it’s been rumored that Bey is pro-cannabis, I’ve rarely heard her openly speak about smoking.

But this album, something changed. The freedom they have in their life and love is proclaimed throughout in the album. With that freedom, they’re way more free to mention that a joint or two does get passed around the Carter household.

Checkout a few of their references of consumption below

Ape Shit” produced by Pharrell

A track that you will most certainly hear in every car and club all summer, Bey teams with Quavo for the high energy hook

Rah, step my money fast and go (Fast, fast, go)
Fast like my Lambo (Skeet, skeet, skeet)
I be jumpin’ off the stage, hoe (Jumpin’, jumpin’, hey)
Crowd better savor (Crowd goin’ heavy)
I can’t believe we made it (This is what we made, made)
This is what we’re thankful for (This is what we thank, thank)
I can’t believe we made it (This a different angle)
Have you ever seen the crowd goin’ apeshit?
Rah, fast and go”

But Hov steals the show when slides in this mention to a popular strain

You need me, I don’t need you
Every night we in the endzone
Tell the NFL we in stadiums too

Stagediving in a pool of people
Ran through Liverpool like a fucking Beatle
Smoke gorilla glue like it’s fucking legal

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who stopped and smiled a little bit when you heard that.

That wasn’t the only mention of bud on the album.

Heard About Us” is a bragadocious banger produced by Boi1da. Drakes go-to guy delivered a bouncy, radio friendly track for Hip-Hop’s favorite couple. Hearing Beyonce recite words like this might make it hard to land on commercial airwaves.

I come around, stepping on necks
My Chica got niggas upset, why?
Oh why these bitches so mad for
They don’t want Yoncé on their door
[?] still got to your four door, can’t forget what you asked for

This time, Jay and Bey toast to the good life with some good bud.

“If you don’t know now you know nigga
He smoking with, D’USSÉ to the face (yeah)
If you don’t know know you know nigga
Put hoes in their place, bitch stay in your lane”

Friends” another Boi1da creation, Bey rides the trap style beat and matches it with the flow perfectly. Another track that will most likely find its way onto every playlist around the country by the morning makes mention to putting smoke in the air with friends. An anthem for loyalty and comraderie, Bey let’s you know how she celebrates with her real friends.

Party fore we go inside
Never let them out my sight
They’re right by my side
Them my ride or dies, them my ride or dies
My friends are goals, your friends are foes
We fly, I cry, our souls exposed, yeah
We smoke, we laugh
Your stress, my stress
Closer than kin, I’m blessed, you blessed

Everything Is Love is available now on Tidal. Lyrics provided by Genius.
