Congratulations to GoGreenhop! The Portland based cannabis dispensary became the nation’s first Hip-Hop themed pot shop. The Mayor and other city leaders joined the celebration.

Local leaders joined a group celebrating the opening of a new marijuana dispensary in Northeast Portland.
The Green Hop Dispensary is the first hip-hop-themed pot shop in the country.
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and Rep. Earl Blumenauer both attended the grand opening. They say the new dispensary is an important step, because of the damage done by the ‘war on drugs’ which disproportionately targeted African Americans.
“I love the fact that there’s a hip hop dispensary that the city is promoting African American involvement and they’re going to help train other African Americans to be part of this growing legal industry,” said Rep. Blumenauer.
Blumenauer added that less than one percent of the African American community is part of the legal pot industry. He hopes this dispensary will change that.
