This past weekend, over half a million Black women descended onto New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Created by the legendary media brand, the event brings together Black women for a weekend of empowerment and entertainment.
During the weekend, TiYanna Long and Shellise Rogers took advantage of all the Black Girl Magic going on in the city and kicked off their inaugural Synergy Sesh.
Synergy Sesh’s mission is to build a pipeline for entrepreneurship, networking and economic development that will serve as a single source to support the growth of your business in the emerging cannabis industry.
Sponsored by Medisi, Sista Rogers and Iso-Sport, the duo’s first event took place at Treme Hideaway in New Orleans. Amongst an intimate setting, guest entrepreneurs Andrea Drummer from Netflix’s Cooking High, Bonne Sante founder Jessica Potts, ex-NFL player Marvin Washington and CashColorCannabis founder Mehka King joined Long and Rogers to speak about everything from entrepreneurship to how you can use your specific skill-set to flourish in cannabis.
Guests walked away with new contacts and knowledge about an industry that needs more of a Black presence.
