Want to hear something totally ironic? Let’s imagine that the lawyer for the man who amplified the war on drugs now owns a weed farm.
That would sound like the synopsis for a Netflix exlcusive, it’s actually a real life story.
Washington attorney Edward Weidenfeld has worked as a senior adviser to six U.S. Presidents, including serving as general counsel to one Ronald Regan is now in the weed business.
He joins the likes of John Boehner as “people who weren’t with the shits who are now definitely with the shits now that the shits can make them legal money.”
Weidenfeld is co-owner of Phyto Management,a weed grow that operates outside the Capitol and sells to MMJ to registered dispensaries. He’s not just the owner, he’s also a user. His Parkinson disease effects his speech, so he turned to the plant for help.
Pretty big jump for someone who worked next to the man who turned the volume up on the war on drugs to ridiculous levels.
Weidenfeld told his story to Reuters recently. Read his piece here
