Fat Trel wants to see rap get the same respect in his city like Go-Go. If you have ever been to D.C., then you know that’s a hard job. The Chocolate City runs on the sounds of Chuck Brown and the Backyard Band. There is a place for rap to reign.

Trel, alongside Wale, Shy Glizzy, GoldLink and more have quietly gave a face to the D.C. scene. So with his new album, On the Run and up-coming compilation, Fat Trel hopes to tip the scale some more towards rap and give a lane for more local artists to come up.
