7 Women in The Cannabis Industry Creating their Own History

Women have been smoking weed since the beginning of time. Although there’s no proof of that it has been recorded that women have been cannabis advocates and allies for centuries. It’s been reported Queen Victoria used weed in the late 1800’s for her menstrual pain. There’s also evidence that suggest Egyptian pharaoh Hatshepsut may had used cannabis and it’s been recently rumored that even the one and only Oprah Winfrey takes a puff or two according to here best friend Gayle.

Basically women have a bound with weed, which is why there are probably many female entrepreneurs coming into the cannabis industry and creating their own companies and brands. Although the cannabis industry is predominantly male dominated and marketed towards male consumers, female owned cannabis companies are shifting the focus and bringing attention and care to female consumers as well.

In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day (March 8)  we wanted to spotlight some of the amazing women that are creating products and experiences for women by women. These ladies are breaking the glass ceiling and creating their own history right now in the cannabis industry.
