DMV Black Women in Cannabis: Vonetta of Grassroots Healing, LLC

We’re up in the DMV yet again, cannafriends! That word won’t catch on. I hope not. I already regret it.

Anyway, today we’re exploring another Maryland mama, Vonetta or “Vee.” Though Vee is a CBD-only type of gal, she combines conscious consumption with a plethora of skills for holistic wellness.

If you’ve kept up with CashColorCannabis, you know we love spiritual shit like yoga, reiki and meditation. Plus she’s on the yoni egg tip!

Let’s dive into Vonetta’s life and the work she does with Maryland-based wellness and medical cannabis accessibility organization Grassroots Healing.

About Maryland’s Cannabis Holistic Triple Threat

You can get a quick grasp of what Vee’s all about as soon as you hit her Instagram!

Her experiences with yoga, reiki, and meditation establish her as a healer and teacher. On our phone call, she was doing some standard evening adulting with her daughter at a store. But even so wrapped up in the day-to-day normal, I felt her motto, practice and lifestyle emanate from her voice:

“Meditate, elevate, educate, medicate.”

I know. What a high thing to think.

Anyway, you can feel what I’m talking about from this photograph. Vonetta was featured on and in Maryjane of Maryland’s January issue! MJ of MD is our local free magazine available at participating dispensaries. You can also become an individual subscriber here.

Getting personal, Vonetta isn’t a medical cannabis patient just yet. She is in a committed relationship with CBD. And why? So far, she hasn’t had positive experiences with full-blown weed.

But she recognizes the healing it brings to others and continues to find to end the stigma with her work!

Her Cannabis Events in Maryland: Present and Past

Vonetta is a change maker on the move throughout Maryland. She hosts talks highlighting the healing aspects of cannabis and CBD, especially when combined with holistic habits. And with Grassroots Healing, she teaches those habits and offers an array of twists.

If you’re a person with female reproductive parts, what do you know about yoni eggs?

Learn from Vee (I was not intentionally trying to make a vagina joke)!

She teaches yoni egg yoga workshops—individual ones for cisgender women and couples ones for pairs looking for grow and explore together. In conjunction with Grassroots Healing, she has an upcoming Yoni Yoga workshop.

It’s apt subtitle?

Tuning into Your Sacred Femininity.

Vonetta also helps with reiki healing and meditation lessons. As of March 15, 2019, she’s accepting reiki clients, so be sure to reach out for your betterment or to learn how it works!

For location, she frequently hosts at dispensaries in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County in Maryland. So places like Potomac Holistics, Mary & Main, and more.

And this is representation for people of color in cannabis around these parts!

Mary & Main is founded by the U.S.’s youngest Black female cannabis entrepreneur Hope Weisman.

And Potomac is locally owned and founded by 4 Marylanders.

And did I mention that women of color pretty much run Grassroots Healing? Learn more about what they offer here and keep up with them on Instagram at @grassroots_healingmd.

Get You Some Wellness!

So, when you make your way up to the DMV, make sure to pay Vonetta a visit at one of her workshops! Or at the least, pay Grassroots Healing a visit.

You can pick up yoga, reiki, yoni egg, meditation and so many more to combine with your cannabis (or strictly CBD) usage. Link with Vonetta on Instagram @radiantsolvibe!
