Meek Mill Proposes Probabtion Bill

Meek Mill has been dealing with the law for years. After successfully wrestling himself out of the system with the help of some powerful friends last year, Meek is trying to pay it back.

Yesterday, the Philadelphia emcee held a press conference to propose a new bill.

Along side Van Jones, Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin, Meek spoke about what would be House Bill 1925.

“I always speak for the people without a voice,” Meek told the crowd. “I hate that it had to be me to go to jail for it to become an issue. But it is an issue and this is where we are at. So I decided to use my time, my platform, my energy to speak for people who don’t have a voice.”

The bill is designed to stop courts from handing out consecutive probation sentences and prevent the court from extending a person’s time on probation or parole over the “nonpayment of fines and fees.”
