Industrial hemp has now been removed from the controlled substance list in Texas reports East Texas Reports.
According to ETR, the move comes with support from the states Secretary of Agriculture Sid Miller.
“We won’t put any extra burden on the farmers or the processors, we don’t want any extra regulation, we’re not for that,”
He went on to state that he wants to see hemp grown in the state.
“We want the processing facilities to be right here in rural Texas and bring those jobs to rural Texas.”
Miller also went on to say that the industry would not be overregulated.
