Single mother Diana Armstrong (LisaRaye McCoy) takes to sliding down a stripper pole in order to pay for college — and make a better life for her child. But taking off her clothes for a paying audience is the easy part at the Player’s Club. More challenging for Diana is staying on the good side of motormouthed club owner Dolla Bill (Bernie Mac), avoiding the club’s unsavory cast of characters and helping her newbie stripping cousin, Ebony (Monica Calhoun), stay on the straight and narrow.
What happens when a bookworm and a juvenile delinquent find their academic records accidentally switched on the first day of school? Duncan Pinderhughes (Christopher “Kid” Reid) is a nerdy straight-A student with no social life, and Blade Brown (Christopher “Play” Martin) is a tough bad boy with grades so low he has little hope of graduating from high school. When a fateful mistake swaps their permanent records — and thereby identities — they decide to take advantage.
Inspired by the domestic lives of celebrities Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, the family comedy “All of Us” reflects a new generation’s enlightened attitude towards those who juggle ex-spouses, dating and professional lives. Robert James (Duane Martin), an entertainment reporter for a local Los Angeles television station, is handsome, smart and thoroughly modern in his thinking. Recently divorced from the somewhat self-absorbed Neesee (LisaRaye McCoy), the mother of their endearing 6-year-old son, Robert refuses to buy into the old stereotype that being divorced means you can’t get along with the ex. Also starring Elise Neal, Terri J. Vaughn, and Tony Rock.
A Heart That Forgives follows two foster brothers that choose separate paths. Malcolm follows his father’s footsteps and begins pastoring a small church while Silk follows a path of darkness attempting redemption at his own convenience. Starring Charles Malik Whitfield, Carl Anthony Payne, and Pilar Sanders.
Victoria Rowell’s Daytime Emmy nominated soap opera parody is heading for the high seas with its usual cast of colorful characters. Bringing more meltdowns, mischief, and masterful manipulation, Season 3 of the series follows the cast as they prepare for their “Destination: Nowhere” cruise to thank their loyal fans with some exclusive, over-the-top entertainment. But with Kitty (Victoria Rowell) and Augustus Barringer (Richard Brooks) at the helm, plus their crew of eccentric cast members, the claws are back, and the calamity is inevitable!
