Most sons have their first beer with dad and many daughters have their first dance with dad. For some of us you may even have had your first hit of weed with dad. All families are different and there are definitely dads in the world who are pro-pot. Since we highlighted “canna-mommas” last month we felt it was only fair to feature some “canna-dads” making moves in the cannabis industry.
John Salley
John Salley is best known for being a former NBA player. He played power forward and center for the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and L.A. Lakers. Since his retirement he’s pursued other business ventures, including the most recent one in the cannabis industry. Salley and his daughter Tyla are co-creators of Deuces a L.A. based company that has a line of pre-rolls, CBD oils and tinctures, and other Deuces brand products. “Tyla is the youngest smartest entrepreneur, that I know. She decided to get into the cannabis business. what’s better than a father – daughter business. She’s the boss and I listen to her,” John said in an interview with Edibles Magazine.

@Highsocietypapa is the second half to @Highsocietymama and they had a high society baby! The high society mama and paper intersect cannabis and parenthood seamsly through their creative and educational/information content. His platform both cannabis growing and life/everyday dad hacks.
2 Chainz
Not only is the Georgia rapper a multi-charting Billboard artist he’s also a dad of three he’s also a cannabis business owner. He recently launched his cannabis-focused part of his many businesses, The Gas Cannabis Co. The line is luxury but user friendly with a selection of pre-rolls, grams, and eights all under the category of premium gas percentages (87, 89, 93), with 93 as the “high-quality, super GAS. Hence the brand name. 2Chainz has been open about his history dealing weed as a teenager in Atlanta and is now proud to have a legal cannabis line. View his Instagram video announcing the brand here.
Jesce Horton
Jesce Horton is the definition of a pot parent. He’s the founder of cannabis production company LOWD, chairman of Resource Innovations, co-founder of The NuLeaf Project – the first grant fund targeted only to cannabis entrepreneurs of color, and a father to a baby boy on top of all of that. Jesce’s work has been an integral part of the conversations about social equity and consistent inclusive within the cannabis. He’s been a speaker at various events and conferences including 2019 Cannabis Business Conference in Las Vegas and keynote speaker at MJ Biz Con NEXT.
Kevin Cranford
Kevin Cranford in a cannabis content creator, educator, and co-founder of a Splimm a very unique cannabis online publication. Splimm is a publication specifically about topics related to parenting and pot. The purpose of the platform is to de-stigmatize for parents that do use cannabis and educate and inform for parents who are looking into. Splimm also cover important topics about cannabis reform updates and inclusivity in the industry.
