The 11th Annual Outside Lands Music and Art Festival happened last weekend August 9-11 at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The 3-day festival included headline performances from artists Childish Gambino, Lil Wayne, Tierra Whack, and Ella Mai. San Francisco hip-hop native P-LO represented the Bay Area’s hip-hop music scene and brought out surprise guests SOB X RBE who also performed last year during Outside Lands Festival. This year’s lineup brought out thousands of concert-goers and was the highest attended Outside Lands in festival history!
Grass Lands returned to Outside Lands Music and Art Festival for the second year in a row. An immersive, curated cannabis experience for adults 21 and up, “Grass Lands spotlights the celebration, education, and integration of cannabis products into daily life.” New this year was the Grass Lands stage powered by Flow Kana. All weekend Grass Lands had musical performances, interactive cannabis-themed demos, and community conversations led by celebrity guests like Netflix’s Cooking on High host Ngaio Bealum and Bong Appetit’s very own Vanessa Lavorato. Outside Lands made history becoming the first music festival in the State of California to allow the sale and consumption of cannabis.
Reese Benton, San Francisco native and Founder and CEO of Posh Green Collective also made history this year when she became the first Black woman in California to become the sole proprietor of a cannabis dispensary. Benton got to experience first-hand all the magic that happened during Grass Lands as Posh Green was one of the select vendors selling cannabis products at the festival. The Posh Green tent was located near the Grass Lands entrance and Benton and her team sold White Runtz and SELFIES by Heshies to festival attendees all weekend long.
Dubbed the “Nordstrom of Cannabis”, Posh Green offers top-shelf premium cannabis products. Benton is an experienced buyer and stylist, previously working in the fashion and apparel industry. Also a medical cannabis consumer, Benton firmly believes in supporting local farmers and greenhouse vendors.
Benton first established Posh Green Collective in 2017. What started as a boutique cannabis delivery service has quickly evolved into a brick and mortar cannabis retailer that will open in the Bay View Hunters Point Neighborhood in San Francisco next month. In addition to owning her own cannabis dispensary Benton also owns and operates her own line of hemp-derived CBD products, Posh Green CBD. She created her own line of CBD products to fill a void she noticed in the legal CBD market. Her Posh Green CBD product collection includes an instant CBD freeze rub, roll on gel stick, 500mg CBD tincture and more. You can purchase Benton’s CBD collection online and have her products shipped directly to your home.
Recently Benton participated on a panel where she discussed first-hand her experience being a businesswoman of color in the emerging legal cannabis industry and addressed some of the common misconceptions surrounding CBD today. Benton and the entire Posh Green team have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to providing the Bay Area community and beyond with top of the line, premium cannabis products that provide consumers with relief.
