Yesterday, November 24 premium cannabis brand Viola, founded by NBA veteran Al Harrington hosted a Heartsgiving Turkey Giveaway event in partnership with The Detroit Rappers Organization owned by Icewear Vezzo of Motown Records.
Detroit native rappers Kash Doll and Icewear Vezzo joined Al Harrington and Detroit mayor Mike Duggan in giving away 2,000 turkeys and sides to the local Detroit community.
Waves of Detroit locals flooded the historic Hart Plaza, where the quartet of hosts and 313 volunteers banded together to connect with the city’s attendees, while small bites and hot chocolate were served at Spirit Plaza across the street.Â
Additionally, the turkey giveaway event was timed to Viola’s official flagship store in the city of Detroit, which officially opens today. The grand opening marks the beginning of Viola establishing a national retail footprint with two more retail locations in California set to open in the second quarter of 2020. A 40,000 sq. ft processing and distribution center inside the Viola Provision Center is set to debut the first quarter of 2020.
