Hearing about retired NBA players jumping into the cannabis space isn’t new.
Former players like the late-Cliff Robinson, Gary Payton, Al Harrington and more have embraced the green. Now, former Seattle Supersonics Shawn Kemp is staking his claim in the gold rush.
It was announced earlier today that Kemp would be opening a dispensary in Seattle.
Shawn Kemps Cannabis opened up today to much fanfare. “The Reign Man” was joined by former teammate Gary Payton and more for the opening of the shop.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming Sonics fans on a regular basis, starting with opening day,” Kemp said in a news release. “I hope that Shawn Kemp’s Cannabis will be an inspiration for people to get involved with the legal cannabis industry, especially people of color.”
Kemp will become one of the few Black-owned dispensaries inside the city.
