March is Women’s History Month. CashColorCannabis.com wanted to start out the month by celebrating some amazing Black women in cannabis.
For years now, Black women have been leading the charge in the cannabis industry for more inclusion, ownership and normalizing consumption. To celebrate Women’s History Month, we highlight 10 Black women who are using their platforms to bring change to the cannabis industry.
Comprised of dispensary owners to activists, cannacool moms and blunt smoking influencers and everything in between, take a look at our list below.
Mary Pryor, Cannaclusive
If “walk it like you talk it” was a person. Co-founder of Cannaclusive, Mary has been vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in cannabis. Cannaclusive has held many cannabis brands feet to the fire over their lack of diversity.
Tyler Therapy
Defying all rules, Tyler Therapy is quickly becoming one of the more popular cannabis influencers. Using her acting background, she curates some amazing, engaging and funny content daily. Currently, she contributes her talents to AllDefCannabis.
Shonitra Anthony, Blunt Blowin Mama
Who say’s you can’t be a proud consumer and a proud mama? Shonitra Anthony a.k.a. Blunt Blowin Mama has dedicated her platform to normalizing cannabis use for moms. If it’s up to here, cannabis be use will be as a normal as a glass of wine after a long day for moms across the world.
Sirita Wright, Estro Haze
Representation matters. One third of the cannabis media outlet Estro Haze, Sirita Wright is the perfect face to the new consumer. Catch her speaking at conferences or helping others in the industry tell their story.
Reese Benton, Posh Green Boutique
Perseverance, prayer and hustle. Reese Benton has survived what would’ve made many fold. An advocate for social equity, Reese officially launched her dispensary, Posh Green Boutique in San Francisco making her one of the few Black faces in a place of ownership in the industry.
Kebra-Bolden Smith
A family members illness, led this nurse to turn her attention to the world of cannabis. A registered nurse, Kebra helps educate disadvantaged communities disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs education about the health benefits of cannabis through her company, CannaHealth.
Lizzy Jeff
Rappers, healer and overall badass, Lizzy Jeff brings a total new vibe to the world of cannabis. A movement by herself, Lizzy speaks her truth about her love of the plant and healing properties in her music and events. She has become a fan-favorite amongst many women across the world.
Margeuax Bruner
The primary Lobbyist and Consultant at Perpetual Harvest Sustainable Solutions, Margeaux has dedicated her life to helping the residents of Michigan learn how launch compliant cannabis businesses. Her next stop, is helping those across the country learn how to get compliant in their state.
Roz McCarthy
The co-founder of Minorites 4 Medical Marijuana, Roz McCarthy and her organization has helped organize groups in other states to speak up for social equity, patient rights and for Black people to have a seat at the table.
Vetra Stephens, 1st Quality Medz
Vetra Stephens made history in the state of Michigan. Her shop, 1st Quality Medz is the first dispensary in Wayne County and second to open overall in the Tri-states area.
