N.E.W.s fourth annual Juneteenth events were a huge success!
- The Live-streamed “Who’s Invited To The Cookout ~What’s On Your Plate.“ Webinar & dinner conversation featuring an array of passionate, eloquent speakers who shared their experiences as formerly incarcerated beings along with how they are healing and empowering through purpose-driven activism. The speaker panel also featured the perspective of a prosecuting attorney dedicated to restorative justice. A must-see link will be listed below.
- A few examples of N.E.W’s interconnective physical presence were highlighted in communities like;
- California, where the spirit of Juneteenth’s emancipation & liberation was a collaborative, all-inclusive affair with the LGBTQIA community’s push for civil liberties,
- In Michigan, the traditional cookout was festive and commemorative of the historic occasion,
- In Washington D.C, the block party featured live music & libation and cooperative police presence.
- Equally compelling were the participants’ expression and their converging, unique, and authentic perspectives, unifying in its holistic commitment to the BIPOC communities and beyond.
LaTorie “Torie” Marshall, Visionary & Founder of N.E.W. along with; Bobby Harris, one of the poignant webinar panelists, will travel to key cities like New York and Atlanta Metro to activate more community organizers willing to serve & impact. Moreover, the dynamic conversations that sparked healing and solutions will continue with the “What’s On Your Plate” talk series of family-style dinner conversations moderated by Torie, other members of N.E.W’s core team, and the potential for a few super friends to host & sponsor.
