CashColorCannabis: Thank you Kai for sharing your story with us today. I’ve had the chance to speak with you before, but could you please introduce yourself?
Kai Maloy: I am Kai Malloy with Nkredible Edibles. I started my company in 2018. We do almost everything we did all of the types of edibles that you would see on the marketplace, but we decided to kind of take a different focus.
CashColorCannanbis: What made you want to launch Nkredible Edibles?
Kai Maloy: I wanted people to have incredible experiences with cannabis. I have been smoking for over 25 years, believe it or not, I’m 43 years old.
I do realize that you know, some of the largest consumers of cannabis happen to be women. I would hear about women having some of the worst stories when we would get together in a session. From finding out where you can get your bud from to different things I would hear, it was hard to find quality products. So that was the reason why I started my company. I wanted women to have a safe space and reliable source.
CashColorCannabis: Was there any blowback from family or friends when you decided to jump into this industry?
Kai Maloy: No, that’s how it really started. It really started through family and friends. And because I was so close with people, they had no problem sharing their referrals with me. The brand just expanded from there.
I was always been a social person, so I used my social skills to help me build my business. That’s what it’s about. Know one can sell your business more than you.
CashColorCannabis: You started out like many on the underground scene. It was from being on the underground pop-up scene that you saw a niche that needed to be filled and that’s pop-up etiquette. Speak to us about your new online seminars where you teach people how to navigate the pop-up scene.
Kai Maloy: So in a workshop, we are discussing different experiences that I had. I speak about what I learned where I was doing pop-ups and how I was successful.
For instance, you can’t be afraid to talk to people. So that means you might not want to reach out to a friend that you’re known as vending at an event. Reach out directly to the host and start to build that relationship. That is where I see a lot of people kind of go wrong. At events, I’ve seen people act, very arrogant, like they didn’t want to talk to customers. That’s something that doesn’t work. So I speak to those points about how you do have to be personal because it is you selling your brand out there. I give them a lot of tips on how to read the room, inventory management, what to bring it events, things of that nature. I try to cover all the bases before I get into some of the other things that people don’t necessarily talk about when we do these events like security. When you’re paying these vendor fees? What is that vendor fee and this opportunity really bring for you?
I end up the session not with, “what’s your ultimate goal?”
You’re vending to get your name out there but you’re getting your name out there for what? What’s your ultimate goal? Do you see yourself in a dispensary being on a store shelf? Do you see yourself in a head shop? Where do you see yourself going within this cannabis space because you can’t be a vendor forever?
CashColorCannabis: If you are a person if somebody wanted to support you or learn about when your next seminar will be, how can they do it?
Kai Maloy: they can do all that, like I said, people started following us because we were the ones that gave out the information.
We gave it out for free, like some of the points that I cover in my kind of ending secrets, I’ve seen people put together classes very similar along the same topic line and charge upwards of $150 for people to participate in, and people will take these classes and leave out even more lost than what they came in. So I guess my approach is a little bit more handheld, in the scope of how I present the information.
With regards to products, I’m gonna keep creating products, you know, I got some topicals that I’ll be coming out with, in a couple of months, we’ll be releasing that just continue to add to the condiments that we offer as well as you know, creating more spice plans for people to use and the recipes electric and home because again, people are going to be taking their healthcare into their own hands so you’re gonna see more of it as people are getting older and experimenting on you know, just different ways that they can be healthy. You know, we got
