Adult Use Picks Up 2 More States while 3 Others Vote No

While we wait for decisions in key senate races across the country, a few states have decided where they fall when it comes to cannabis.

Missouri and Maryland both voted yes to adult use of recreational cannabis. The votes now bring two states to the legal side.

“A growing number of voters recognize that cannabis policy reform is in the best interest of public health and safety, criminal justice reform, social equity, and personal freedom,” said Toi Hutchinson, President and CEO of the Marijuana Policy Project. “State-level legalization victories are what’s necessary to move the needle forward at the federal level. That is how we build cannabis champions in Congress who are committed to taking meaningful action to put an end to prohibition once and for all.”

By the end of the night North Dakota, South Dakota and Arkansas voted down a measure to make cannabis legal in their state.

The votes for Missouri and Maryland make them the 21st and 22nd states to all for adult recreational use.
