Oklahoma is set to place stricter restrictions on the growing cannabis industry in the state.

The Texoma High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area compiled a new report filled with data on marijuana use among children and adults, as well as marijuana-related investigations.
One significant finding from the report is that Oklahoma is producing more than 30 times the amount of marijuana needed within the state.
Sen. James Lankford said similar reports have been conducted in other states but not in Oklahoma. He also mentioned that he has been discussing this issue with federal leaders.
“You made your bed, lie in it. We’re now seeing the results of people backing off on the law enforcement side as our state rushes into this issue and now DEA and FBI are very engaged in what’s going on and have been for the last couple of years,” Lankford said.
Lankford also said Oklahoma is too wide open to criminal activity in the marijuana industry.
