Kiss My Grass Debuts at Tribeca
This past weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, a new kind of cannabis story took center stage.
Kiss My Grass, co-directed by longtime advocate and cultural curator Mary Pryor, delivers a raw and revolutionary look at the impact Black and Brown communities have had on the cannabis industry, while calling out the erasure and inequities that still persist today.
We’ve had the honor of interviewing Mary for our CashColorCannabis Presents series, and we’ve always known her to be a fierce voice for truth, equity, and representation.
With Kiss My Grass, she channels that same energy into a film that doesn’t just educate—it demands attention. Narrated by Rosario Dawson and featuring a dynamic lineup of Black and Brown women cannabis entrepreneurs, the film powerfully illustrates the uphill battles women—especially women of color—face in building a business in this space.
As cannabis continues to be commodified, Kiss My Grass reminds us who laid the groundwork—and who’s still fighting for a seat at the table.
