Ai Is Your Friend, D.E.I. & More: 3 Takeways From Our Interview with BakedBot.ai Co-Founder Martez Knox
Recently, CashColorCannabis Podcast host Mehka had the chance to speak with BakedBot.ai co-founder Martez Knox. BakedBot.ai has the potential to help dispensaries increase sales and assist customers with customizing their selections to their exact tastes.
Ahead of the release of the interview, here are 5 takeaways from our conversation with Martez.
Ai Can Be Your Bestfriend
I, like many people, was hesitant to embrace the use of artificial intelligence at first. I have become more of a fan of using Ai, Martez understands people’s hesitancy when using Ai. Martez understands the concerns but feels like we should look at Ai as more of a companion and not a competitor.
“Those are very, very valid concerns,” said Martez “We hear it all the time. The way we look at it is more of a companion, more of a way to enhance the budtender. What we want to do is enhance the budtender not replace it.”

Budtenders Can Only Do So Much
When you go into a dispensary, you expect to get the best customer service from budtenders when it comes to finding what fits your needs. But even the most educated budtender could only go so far when it comes to knowing exactly what you want.
Past dealings with budtenders is what led to the creation of BakedBotAI
“I saw a huge opportunity here because everywhere you go, you see these budtenders but they don’t always have the data to be able to recommend you a product that’s going to work for you. I think that it’s kind of unrealistic for us in the industry to expect that based on one engagement. You never met me, right? I’m telling you my problems or situations or whatever, and based on that, you have to try to recommend something. The potential to recommend a strain that one doesn’t like or doesn’t work right, I would say it’s far greater than the potential to recommend something that does work right.”
Diversity over everything
Despite being in a world where D.E.I. is looked down on, the BakedBotAi team embraces having people from all backgrounds help to create the best product possible. With a team that consists of black faces, brown faces, and LGBT representation, Martez sees it as a win overall.
“I look at diversity probably different from a lot of folks right in this industry. What we’re building, I have to go after the best that I could get.”
