A Fine Experience at Fine Fettle: A Conversation with Josh Batista
During my recent visit to Fine Fettle, I had the pleasure of meeting Josh Batista, the Director of Retail. From the moment I walked in, the space felt welcoming — a blend of professionalism and warmth, much like Josh himself.
Josh spoke passionately about the challenges and opportunities within Georgia’s current low-THC program. While many might see the restrictions as limiting, Josh and his team view it as a creative challenge: crafting high-quality, premium cannabis products even within tight potency guidelines. “People think low THC means low quality,” he explained, “but we’re making great products that still provide relief — and we’re working to empower patients to speak up so we can eventually offer even more.”
Expansion is clearly on Fine Fettle’s horizon. With existing locations in Savannah, Decatur, Athens, and Evans, plus a cultivation site in central Macon, Josh shared ambitions for new dispensaries in Macon and Peachtree Corners. But growth, he emphasized, hinges on patient participation. “The more patients we enroll, the more we can bring access directly to local communities,” he said.
Beyond the storefront, Fine Fettle is committed to community engagement. Josh highlighted their presence at local festivals and pop-up events, blending cannabis education with good old-fashioned Southern hospitality. For those interested in following their journey, Josh pointed me toward Fine Fettle’s website and Instagram (@finefettleGA) where their activities, events, and educational efforts are regularly updated.
In a market that can often feel transactional, my time at Fine Fettle — and my conversation with Josh — reminded me that cannabis retail can be rooted in education, advocacy, and genuine care for the community.
